Special Covers of Karnataka - 2020

  101 Special covers were released during the Pandemic year 2020..

The year started with 'Rakshapex-2020' exhibition , where 6 special covers were released. Before the lockdown started in March, 53 Special covers were released with 26 covers at 'Tumakurupex-2020' District Level Philatelic Exhibition alone, probabaly highest release during a district exhibition. it included 6 Meter Franked Special covers on Gandhi 150 . Many Natural, Historic places in and around Tumakuru were covered with beautiful special covers and postmarks.

Highlights of this year's special covers: 

• Set of 5 special covers on Sports which honoured all Khel Ratna Awardees of 2017,2018,2019, 2020 and National Sports Day 2020 featuring M.S Dhoni. A collectible set of any Sports theme collector.       

• Set of 8 Special covers on Wildlife were released in association with Karnataka Forests department to commemorate 66th Wildlife Week The Special covers and Postmarks are elegantly covers 7 wildlife locations of Karnataka.

•   A Special cover Golden cancellation probably first time in Karnataka , was released on the valedictory function of 'Debutpex 2020' . The cover beautifully depicted the Traditional toys of India. A set of Picture post cards were also released on Traditional Toys of India with beautiful postmarks.

•   End of 2020, 8 Special covers were released on Covid-19 awareness ,which included a set of 4 special covers on ‘Postal Services during Covid-19 ’ with postmarks depicting Covid-19 awareness and protection.

• 3 Special covers were released commemorating 150th Birth Anniversary of Kavi Muddana.

• First Flight covers carried from Mysuru to Mangaluru and return flight from Mangaluru o Mysuru

•  8 Special covers with Meter Franking were released during the year.
