Celebrating International Biodiversity decade 2011-2020, India Post, North Karnataka Region ​h​as released a set of 48 Picture Postcards titled Butterflies of India.

Mammals - Picture postcards

A set of picture postcards on Mammals of India  have been released by North Karnataka Postal Circle on the occasion of 67th Republic day at Dharwad. This is a set 48 Picture postcards of Mammals belonging to the following 5 biological families.

1.  Bovidae -23 Picture postcards   2.  Felidae - 15 Picture postcards
3.  Cervidae -8 Picture postcards   4.  Moschidae - 1 Picture postcard
5.  Tragulidae - 1 Picture postcard

 

Birds of the Himalayas 2 - Picture Postcards

The Himalayas, is a mountain range which separates the Great Indian Plains from the Tibetan Plateau. This range is home to nine of the ten highest peaks on the Earth, including the highest,Mount Everest. The abrupt rise of the Himalayan Mountains from less than 500 meters to more than 8,000 meters in a few hundred kilometers has resulted in a huge diversity of flora and fauna. Nearly 1000 birds have been recorded in the Himalayas of which 15 species are fully endemic.


India Post North Karnataka Region (Dharwad) has brought out a 2nd set of 49 Picture postcards  on the theme Birds of the Himalayas, celebrating the International Bio diversity decade 2011-2020.

Karnataka Postal Circle issued 2 sets of picture postcards on the occasion of Aero India 2015 and International Women's Day at Bengaluru. The set contains 10 postcards each.
